We Travel to Blue Valley with Bobby in Uniform

Game 15 (8-6-1)
15 October at AnDAC vs. Blue Valley (3-2 OT)






Well, it has been a long time since we have suited up and played Bobby Bjorseth (Game five, 10 minutes in, we lost him to a leg injury.), and he became the central figure in tonight's win. 

First of all, despite vows to the contrary, we got off to yet another slow start. We allowed two goals within a minute of one another about 15 minutes in. The Tigers at that point in time had three shots and three shots on goal.


Now, they did not get another shot off the rest of the match, but we had put ourselves in quite a hole, 2-0. ("The most dangerous score in soccer.")


The boys engineered one final corner kick before the half-time horn to our credit. Spencer got off the perfect ball from the left, a low liner just over Brody's head as it skipped to the back post for a Laws poke-in.

Unable to produce a goal early in the second half, we moved Laws up to the "9," moved Bobby over to centerback, added Ollie, and off we went.

We scored within 2-3 minutes, then moving our defense back to where it was before the goal to finish the match.

It took overtime and one more Bobby throw to rescue the win, but we did it. 

We have now played 5 overtime matches. We are 3-1-1.

We planned to play Bobby about twenty minutes a half tonight to ease him back into a full match. Well, the best plans . . .

We will finish off regular season this Thursday against a tough BV West team. We are close to getting our Mojo back. We still need to clear up some things defensively.

#1 in the US pays us a visit

Game 2: (0-2-0) 5 September vs. Rockhurst at home (0-1) 2024 Stats EKL Standings How enjoyable has our Rockhurst Rivalary been—just extraordinary. Yes, this match used to draw 5,000 fans, complete with football-team cookouts and coaches coming in from all over the country, but Coach Pribyl's TOP DAWG tourney is no more. Oh, and tonight, the Chiefs play on NBC to open the NFL season at 7:20. So, a bit less than 5,000. But Halo did broadcast the match, so some people around the country got to watch both. It was a match that almost did not start, with lightning in the area. But the skies parted, the rain and lighting left, and it was a great night for soccer. And really, we had quite a match with very few opportunities to score for either team. We both had a few. The match was nearly 60 minutes in and still scoreless when our left wing picked up his second yellow card. So from that point on, we had to play the Rock with only 10 guys. The Final Day of the Saints Classic

Game 5: (3-2-0) 14 September vs. Kapaun Mt. Carmel (2-2) at 3:00 (3-1) 2024 Stats EKL Standings Saints Alums with 2024 Varsity We came into the third and final day of the Saints Classic, playing well but exhausted. The match reinforced both items. Kapaun jumped on us early, even though Parker set up perfectly. We appear to block the shot away from him.  But before that, we lost Bobby Bjorseth, as his leg had started swelled up. He would not be able to play any more of the match. The good news was Kitts did make the match. We were able insert some fresh legs into the lineup to stay pretty solid in the back we thought. But his stamina would only allow him to play, but about, ten minutes at a time.  We actually had to call Oliver Sarmiento and Alex Fuentes, two of our extended guys, to have them suit up for the second half.
