Game 0.5: New Blue Gold Match
28 August vs. Top 22 (7 goals scored)

In our new approach to Blue-Gold, we play four 15-minute segments, with two featuring what looks like our Top 11, against our second 11.

That first segment went 0-0 with our starters earning a corner and several shots not on goal. But by the time we got around to the 4th segment, featuring the same match-up, our starters won 3-0.

7:00 Siebert (Befort pushes the ball upfield to Janeway who attacks the baseline, sliding a T-ball to Brody)

4: 00 Omar (Befort hits a through-ball to Siebert on his diagonal run which he gathers before driving a t-ball to the slot for the finish.)

0:10 Siebert (Befort goes over the top to Brody who touches it twice before finishing)

The middle two 15-minute segments offered up two balanced squads. The first of those segments finished deadlocked at one. In the second set, the varsity defense won 2-0. So probably a few too many goals were scored.

Segment 3

10:45 Omar (the foul in the back (handball) offers up a deadball from the top of the box where Omar just laced it to the back post)

6:00 Fuentes (Befort hits a beautiful through-ball that allows Alex to take the ball into the box to finish far post on the ground)

Segment 4

8:00 Omar (just a great build that hits Fuentes on a diagonal run that ends with Alex's T'ball to David's quick touch that continues the attack to the back post for the finish).

3:30 Ragan (Omar plays the nice corner in)

Coach Grow made a nice point after the match. The last time the team had touched the ball was 7:00 in the morning on Monday—60 hours ago. The starters and honestly everyone therefore improved as they played.

The last couple of shifts showed much-improved play.

Bring on St. James.

In the middle 15-minute segments our JV took on our C-Team. In the first 15 minutes, the squads ended in a 0-0 tie.

In the second 15-minute segment, JV put 4 goals in.

Coleton Jacobsen, Goal 1  (Oddo's cross to Lopez who drops to Coleton).

But then freshman Dominic Giammanco put three crossed in to assist the final three goals.

Lopez, Goal 3 (Giammanco cross to Meyer's foot-flick for the finish back post)

Jacobsen, Goal 4 (Giammanco boxes it across once again for another foot-flick to Coleton for the finish)
